Two large employers are hiring in Southern Nevada this fall. Haas Automation is looking to hire more than 1,000 workers for its new Henderson factory, KTNV reported, and Amazon is hiring for more than 2,500 holiday-season roles in Southern Nevada, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. State data shows the Las Vegas-area unemployment rate held at 4.8% in September. For local rental owners and renters, new jobs can mean people relocating to the valley or changing jobs within it.
Haas Automation Staffs Up Its Henderson Factory
Haas Automation, a maker of CNC machines, is building its second factory at 2055 Via Inspirada in Henderson. The company's Henderson careers page describes the site as a 2.4-million-square-foot headquarters now under construction. Haas says the facility will begin supporting operations in the fourth quarter of 2026, with hiring and onboarding happening in phases.
KTNV reported that Haas is looking to hire more than 1,000 employees at the plant. Open roles include operators, engineers, machinists, assemblers, inventory associates and support staff. According to KTNV, starting pay is around $23 an hour, and some positions eventually pay upwards of $100 an hour. The station also reported that the plant is expected to be fully up and running next fall. General manager Bob Murray told the station, "The quality of applicants has been outstanding."
Haas says all applications must be submitted online. It asks people not to visit the Henderson site in person, since it is an active construction site that is not open to the public. Candidates from outside the area are welcome to apply, the company says, but all positions are on-site in Henderson. Most roles are full-time, according to the company.
Amazon Adds Holiday Roles in Southern Nevada
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on Oct. 20 that Amazon is hiring for more than 3,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal roles in Nevada during the holiday season, citing a company news release. More than 2,500 of those jobs are in Southern Nevada, according to the Review-Journal.
Pay for core operations roles starts at $20 an hour, with average pay of nearly $24 an hour, the Review-Journal reported. The paper also reported that Amazon employs more than 17,000 people in Nevada and has around 15 centers across Southern Nevada, including fulfillment, sorting and distribution sites. New Amazon roles are added every Friday at amazon.jobs, according to the paper.

What This Means for Owners and Renters
For owners: Hiring by large employers can bring new rental applications, including from people relocating for work. Haas says it is hiring in phases and welcomes applicants from outside the area, with all positions on-site in Henderson. KTNV reported that the plant is expected to be fully up and running next fall.
For renters: Many rental applications ask for proof of income, and an offer letter is one common form. Some of the Amazon roles reported by the Review-Journal are seasonal. Our FAQ covers common questions about applying for one of our homes.
